Arranging the Facets of Life... Print
Lunchtime event: Debate on Work-Life Balance
19 January 2009, 12.15 - 13.45, Auditorium Anna Nussbaum, World Trade Institute, Bern

The gender and career representatives of the three NCCRs at the University of Bern invite all interested people, in particular PhD candidates, to a free lunchtime event at the World Trade Institute, Hallerstr. 6, Bern, on 19 January 2009, from 12:15 to 13:45.

Arranging the Facets of Life in a Consistent Mosaic

Life is full of facets: work, family and friends. With the start of their professional career, men and woman face the difficulty of making these facets cohere. The art of living consists of finding a balance between the different areas of life and shaping a coherent mosaic.

This lunchtime event presents speakers with different perspectives on the topic:

Dr. Astrid Mehr, Impulsa, Bern: How to achieve a well-balanced life?

Prof. Dr. Tomke König, University of Basel:
Family, work and gender: Defining the situation as a medium of persistence and change.

Dr. Simon Mason, CSS, ETH Zurich: What can we learn from the experience of three generations?

The discussion will be introduced and moderated by Dr, Sabin Bieri, of the IZFG, University of Bern.
