Modelling the Swiss Agriculture Without Subsidies and Tariffs Print
Brown Bag Seminar, Speaker: Robert Huber, Agricultural Economist, ETH Zürich
9 March 2009, 12.15 - 13.45 Auditorium Anna Nussbaum, WTI, Berne, Switzerland

From an economic-modelling perspective, the removal of subsidies and tariffs in Swiss agriculture would entail structural change and a shift towards activities with comparative cost advantages. Mr. Huber will present a spatial explicit mathematical programming model which tries to illustrate these effects in a long term perspective. Assumptions, results and caveats are discussed for a specific region in the Swiss lowlands.
